A Note from our Founder
South Africa isn’t just a destination, it’s my favorite place on Earth.
I first traveled there in 2014 and instantly fell in love. I spent the next decade dreaming of the day I could return and when I finally did to scout for The Galavant Society, it felt like coming home. After three weeks exploring coastlines that look like something out of a movie, sipping wine among jaw-dropping mountains, and experiencing the soul-stirring magic of safari, I knew: I had to bring the Gals here.
From the dramatic cliffs of the Cape Peninsula to the rolling vineyards of Franschhoek to the wild, heart-thumping beauty of the bush, South Africa is, without question, a life-changing place. It’s luxurious and laid-back. Chic and untamed. Bold and beautiful.
I didn’t want to leave. And I have a feeling you won’t either.

About the Tour
The South Africa Soirée
From sunrise safaris to seaside sunsets, this is South Africa at her most spectacular.
This isn’t just a trip, it’s the Galavant. A journey through South Africa’s most iconic landscapes, from deep into Sabi Sands, the crown jewel of Greater Kruger, to the dramatic cliffs of the Cape. You'll sip world-class wines in the heart of the Winelands, wander pastel streets in Cape Town, and spend four extraordinary nights on safari with twice-daily game drives, sundowners in the bush, and surprises that’ll make you say “Is this real life?!”.
We’ve hand-selected one of the most celebrated properties in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, renowned for offering the best game viewing in South Africa. Not all safari lodges are created equal, and nothing rivals the level of service, wildlife access, and exclusivity you’ll experience here.
While most group trips rush through South Africa, checking boxes and barely pausing for breath, we designed this one to linger. You’ll enjoy a full free day in every destination, giving you time to actually experience the magic around you. Plus, we’ve negotiated a fourth night on safari completely free — just for our Gals. That means more lions, more leopards, more lazy mornings, more gin & tonics in the bush, and more memories made in the glow of the campfire.
HIGHLIGHTS
✔ Four dreamy nights on safari in a top-tier private game reserve
✔ A wine-paired lunch at one of the most iconic estates in the Winelands
✔ Dinner with a view at Cape Town’s most coveted coastal restaurant
✔ Quality time with the Boulders Beach penguins (yes, actual penguins)
✔ Game drives, starlit dinners, and a luxe family-run Game Lodge we adore
✔ Free time in every destination — no rushing, just room to breathe
✔ Thoughtfully chosen hotels with incredible views and warm hospitality
✔ Hand-vetted local partners who treat our Gals like gold

What the Gals are Saying….
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I decided to join the Greece trip after my friend raved about her previous trips with the Gals. I have to say… I was beyond impressed! Every little detail was on point. The planning was incredible, and everything was seamless. I really enjoyed being able to choose to do more or less depending on my personal preferences. We got the VIP treatment everywhere we went. It was truly a magical trip!”

““This was my first time ever traveling solo and my first Galavant and this group made all the difference. Getting to know all these incredible women from such different walks of life was so meaningful. The conversations, laughs, boat dance parties, inside jokes, I’ll never forget them. One of the best parts of this trip, for my Type A personality, was having the freedom to personalize parts of my itinerary without the stress of managing every little detail. Not having to worry about bookings or time management meant I could actually relax and soak in each moment without feeling rushed to move on to the next thing. I felt so taken care of the entire time. I would 1000% travel again with this group of Gals!

I cannot rave enough about traveling with a group of like-minded women. The laughter, the friendships and memories made will forever be a part of my travel soul. I cannot wait for my next adventure! These Galavants are an amazing opportunity to discover a unique destination and yourself!

Trip Itinerary
DAY ONE – Welcome to Cape Town, Gals! You’ll be greeted by our trusted team and whisked off in a private car to our five-star home base. Unpack, unwind, and take in your first peek at Table Mountain before we gather for our official Gals Welcome Dinner, where we’ll toast to new friends and the adventures ahead.
DAY TWO — Today, we’ll journey down one of the most breathtaking stretches of coastline in the world. Expect winding cliffside roads, penguin sightings, and some very scenic photo ops. We’ll break for a seaside lunch featuring the freshest local seafood and visit a few of our favorite small towns before heading back to the hotel for downtime.
DAY THREE — This one’s all yours. Hike up a mountain, visit Robben Island, shop for local treasures, or relax with a spa treatment. We’ll provide optional experiences and expert recs to help you design your perfect day. In the evening, we’ll reconvene for one of the most memorable dinners of the trip: a multi-course oceanside sunset dinner experience that’s as dazzling as the view.

DAY FOUR – Today we’ll trade Cape Town’s buzz for the vineyard-lined serenity of the Cape Winelands. We’ll begin our journey with a guided garden and farm walk through one of South Africa’s most iconic estates, followed by a fresh, wine-paired lunch among orchards and olive groves. In the afternoon, we’ll settle into our next home in the charming village of Franschhoek, known for its storybook streets and culinary flair.
DAY FIVE - Today is a celebration of South Africa’s world-renowned wine country. We’ll start with a relaxed introduction to local wines at the hotel, before venturing out to some of the region’s most celebrated vineyards. Along the way, we’ll soak in sweeping valley views, sip world-class wines, and meet a trailblazing woman in wine whose story will leave you inspired. Expect elegant cellars, warm hospitality, and bottles you’ll want to bring home.
DAY SIX — Whether you're dreaming of a spa day, a vineyard bike ride, a bit of boutique shopping, or a scenic trot through the vines on horseback, today is yours to savor. In the evening, you’ll have the option to join us for a dazzling dinner at one of South Africa’s most celebrated fine dining restaurants, where every course is a work of art (and the wine pairings are equally swoon-worthy).

DAY SEVEN — Today we leave the vineyards behind and head straight into safari magic. After a short flight, our adventure begins with a game drive transfer through Sabi Sands, South Africa’s most legendary private reserve. We’ll settle into our luxury river-view rooms before heading out for our first official sunset game drive. Tonight, we dine under the stars with a lantern-lit boma dinner in the heart of the bush.
DAY EIGHT — Mornings start early here, but trust us, it’s worth it. After your sunrise game drive and a leisurely breakfast, the day is yours to relax: unwind at the spa, take a dip in the pool, or simply listen to the wild. In the afternoon, we’ll set off again in search of the Big Five. Tonight, pack your pajamas, we’re cooking up a little Gals-only surprise.
DAY NINE — Today begins with a guided bush walk, where you’ll learn the art of tracking and spot the small wonders of the reserve. After a scenic picnic breakfast, enjoy a relaxed afternoon before our next game drive. We'll end the day with another fabulous lodge dinner and time to reflect under the stars.
DAY TEN — One last sunrise drive, one more magical afternoon among the wildlife. Then, we pull out all the stops for our Galavant Farewell, an out-of-this-world dining experience you’ll never forget, celebrating new friendships, once-in-a-lifetime sightings, and the magic of South Africa.
DAY ELEVEN — You’ll enjoy one final game drive as we journey from the lodge back to the airport, taking in your last glimpses of this unforgettable place before flying to Johannesburg to begin your journey home.

DEPARTURE DAY RESET - If your international flight departs late (as many do), we offer the option to book an extra night at our preferred airport hotel in Johannesburg. Rather than spending hours at the terminal, you’ll have a cozy place to rest, freshen up, and unwind before your long journey home. We’ll also arrange assistance to help you get to your terminal when it’s time to fly, so you can end your Galavant in comfort, not chaos.

A Few Considerations:
✨ ✨ You’re comfortable being in the wild (luxuriously so)
While our safari lodge is the definition of elevated, think river-view rooms, world-class cuisine, and five-star service, you’re still in the bush. That means pre-dawn wake-ups, animal calls outside your suite, and yes, the occasional insect. It’s raw, real, and absolutely magical.
✨ You’re comfortable in transit and off the beaten path
This Galavant includes a mix of scenic drives, short flights, and bumpy bush tracks. Expect winding coastal roads in Cape Town, a one-hour transfer to the Winelands, and a short, standard regional flight into the bush. But the real ride? Our twice-daily game drives in open-air safari vehicles—3+ hours each on unpaved roads, with plenty of off-roading for epic wildlife sightings.
✨ You know wildlife isn’t guaranteed, but magic always is
We’ve hand-selected our lodge in Sabi Sands for its staggering population of leopards, lions, and elephants to give you the best possible chance at Big Five sightings. But this isn’t a zoo, it’s the wild. Our expert guides will lead the way safely, but sightings are never scripted. Trust the process.
✨ You’re excited for a mix of city, culture, nature & wildlife
South Africa is a land of contrasts: urban energy, tranquil vineyards, and untamed wilderness. This journey blends luxury and adventure, and rewards travelers who are open to variety, new flavors, and a bit of unpredictability (hello, lion sightings!).
If you have any questions about the above, we’re happy to chat! Just email us at hello@thegalavantsociety.com
✨ You know a good investment when you see one
On safari, everything’s included: gourmet meals, fine wines and cocktails, daily game drives, laundry, and even a fourth night (completely free) that we negotiated just for our Gals. No surprise add-ons here. Cape Town and the Winelands offer more flexibility, with curated options and plenty of time to make the experience your own. Similar luxury safaris run $25–30k—we’ve packed in more value, more magic, and more you-time for far less.
✨ You don’t do basic and neither do we
You didn’t come all the way to South Africa to speed through it. Unlike cookie-cutter tours that leave you breathless (and not in a good way), we’ve built in time to settle, savor, and seriously enjoy. You’ll get a full free day in each region—Cape Town, the Winelands, and Safari—to do you. And because we know our gals travel in style, hard-sided suitcases are welcome (no duffels required).

What to know
BEFORE YOU GO
-
Our Galavants are crafted for women 21 and up who crave meaningful travel, rich cultural experiences, and genuine connection. You don’t need a travel buddy, a milestone birthday, or a particular life stage to join us, just an open mind, a kind heart, and a sense of adventure. Whether you’ve traveled the world or this is your first big trip, you’ll feel right at home.
-
Our travelers typically range from their late 20s to mid 60s, with most falling somewhere between 30 and 55. But truthfully? Age isn’t the defining factor for joining a Galavant, energy is. We attract curious, independent, kind-hearted women who value depth, conversation, and the thrill of discovering something new. If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.
-
Absolutely—most of our gals do! We’ll pair you with a roommate whenever possible. If not, you can choose to pay a single supplement or wait for a future trip. Questions? Email us at hello@thegalavantsociety.com
-
While this is a guided group trip (with a lot of incredible experiences packed in), we’ve made sure to build in breathing room, too.
In Cape Town and the Winelands, you’ll each have a full free day to explore, relax, or do your own thing, whether that’s hiking Table Mountain, booking a spa day, or sipping wine in the sunshine.
On safari, we’ve added an extra day for those who want an extra game drive or for anyone who’d like to savor the lodge: read by the pool, book a massage, or go all in with an optional bush walk.
Prefer even more time? We’re happy to help you arrive early or extend your stay to tailor the adventure to your travel style.
